Our new, colourful Fasnacht tin successfully conveys the incomparable Fasnacht atmosphere. The subject, painted especially for our carnival tin, skilfully captures the moment when the exuberant mood at the Basel Schifflände reaches a climax for a final time with the "Ändstraich".
The artist Mirjam Pierig transforms this moment with all its colours, shapes and movements into an exceptional work of art using a mische technique of watercolours and crayons. Whereas an initial glance simply seems to show an animated confusion, a second inspection will reveal the individual, elaborately designed costumes and masks. Using clearly defined colour accents, Mirjam Pierig successfully brings her subjects to life and conjures up great Fasnacht emotions.
