05.05.2018 - Albert Anker (1831 – 1910) is without doubt one of the most popular Swiss painters of the 19th century, and even more than 100 years after his death, the charisma of his paintings still fascinates the beholder.
His diverse body of work encompasses still lifes, portraits and rural landscapes. The best-known, however, are probably his characteristic genre paintings: everyday scenes in which the master chronicles rural life and traditions in unrivalled seriousness. Albert Anker was a virtuoso in his field and mastered his craft to perfection: his paintings reflect the artist’s attentiveness and care and stand out for the delicacy of the contours, the careful colouration and their consummate harmonic composition. The Läckerli Huus is delighted to include two typical works by Albert Anker in its exclusive series of strictly limited edition artist tins. Care and craftsmanship also play an important role in the Läckerli Huus: we have been baking our Original Basler Läckerli using 100% natural ingredients to a recipe that has remained unchanged since 1904.
